Well thats interesting.

The ipad 12.9pro battery went dead on my recently and I sent it in for battery replacement. They had it for less than a day and then priority mail fedex sent me a replacement product. Will be here tomorrow.

Two things on my mind atm. 1, the only reason they would completely replace my 12.9 pro with a new tablet would be if there was a failure in the device that was a known factory defect that they keep an eye out for. No reason I can think of otherwise to send me a whole new device without charging me for it. The other thing, 2, if the gen 1 12.9 pro is no longer available... am I getting a rebuild gen 1 or a 2017 gen 2...

Interesting.

I did start posting yesterday to say I thought mine had developed the same battery issue as yours as it dropped down to 4% and the charger wasn’t being recognised.

Looks like it may be a faulty plug socket though as moving it to a different one seems to have done the trick.


Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

Just had another scare with mine - my nail caught on a scratch on the screen. Taking a closer look it was a crack and stretched from the top left corner of the iPad to the bottom middle. Panic set in with thoughts of a new screen.

I found the cat sitting on the pad yesterday so was thinking she was the cause of the crack.
I have one of the thick tempered glass protectors on the Pro so peeled that off and thank goodness the crack was on the protector. The thing fell into two as I peeled it away. Might complain and see if they send a replacement.

But at least it wasn’t the major damage I thought at first.

Tablet is here, it’s a gen 1 but I’m pretty sure it’s a new one.
. Screen brightness works now, the old one with ios11 was half max brightness at best
. All subtle bends in the chassis are gone
. Was set to factory on iOS 11.0. The one I sent in was 11.0.3


Running smooth now :)

Still having issues with charging on the ipad since 11.
Not all the time but these last couple of days it stops charging and the only way to restart it seems to be to unplug the lightning connector and plug it in again (to the device not the mains end).

Also keep getting apps crash randomly.
Currently playing...umm nothing much.

Follow up on your last post Gatecon,

Updated to 11.2 yesterday morning on the pro 12.9. Didn't realize it but mid day the thing stopped recharging and marvel future fight got it down to the 9% mark before I got the warning. Unplugged/replugged in, left it be. Then this morning I noticed the ipad was no longer charging faster than mff was consuming battery. MFF has always been a bit of a battery hog but with my 31w cable/block combo I've never had this issue.

Hard rebooted the 12.9 with it unplugged. Plugged back in and it 'seems' to of fixed the issue.
