Yup, like I said that website I found was full of top-notch suggestions :)
Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

Emojis - I can’t see any sign of the 56 new emojis supposed to come with iOS11

Translate - “sorry Siri cannot translate from British English yet” wtf?
Edit bah humbug you have to have Siri set to US English for translate to work. Poor show.

“UPDATE: Apparently, Apple's new emoji collection is not immediately available with iOS 11. However, it's been reported the new emojis will come soon with the update”

In other words someone forgot to add them to the new release🙈🙉🙊

You guys are and are not giving me lots of confidence on doing this upgrade over the weekend.

On the 32-bit app front, I went ahead and just removed all the 32-bit apps from my iPad.  Several of them are no longer even on the app store.  Sure, I had some fun with them for a year or so, but was just getting back to playing them to find out, sorry, not there any more.  (This does make me sort of want to put money aside for a fully loaded MS Surface Pro.  At least OS updates don't invalidate my purchases.  Even the update from Windows '95 still gave me methods of running the older programs.)

I'm still moving forward with the plan to upgrade over the weekend.  I was aware of the whole sort of disable wifi/bluetooth "feature".  I'm hoping airplane mode does not suffer from the same line of thinking.  I use airplane mode more than I do individual toggling of wifi/bluetooth.

Hmm. Once again. Got to work, this time I left the ipad on standby/screenlocked during drive to work. Got set up, plugged in power cord, even with power cord plugged in ipad shut down. Power button or home button double tap got my back to home screen. Then powered down again on its own about 20 seconds later. Reboot fixed it.

:/

Still having the battery issue but have streamlined addressing it. Don't need to plug the ipad in. Once it goes black I simply hold down the power/home buttons till the battery notification vanishes and the apple logo appears. Good to go.

An annoying situation but not one I can't work with until its fixed. Aside from it, I've no regrets, iOS11 is really impressive from my use so far.

Weighing in. There is a side of me that is itchy to try out new and shiny toys, but until the itch outweighs the desire for my essential apps that will go bye-bye, I'll wait. I have apps that I use all the time, am not willing to give up and have yet to find suitable substitutes. Besides, I have you guys to tell me what went wrong  ;)

(I'm having a deja vu moment that we've had this same conversation before)

Downloaded 11 last night and installed it this morning.  Setup was less involved than for 10 thank goodness.  So far just getting used to the minor cosmetic changes.  The dynamic dock takes some getting used to.

Crossing my fingers, no issues so far.

Found my first problem.  Bookmarks in ibooks no longer work for PDFs.

The crashing when launching a recent app from dock is something I can work around.  Losing my bookmarks for my PDF files which I reference is not something I can work around.

Video Record feature works on iphone 11, does not appear to be working for me on ipad 11, records the length of the session but only the first frame recorded is shown for the full length.

Also if someone txts me and i drag down on the ipad screen to respond, as im typing to the person the graphics go haywire in the background behind the chat bubble.

On a fun note, wifey’s ip8+ arrives today :)

I hadn’t tried the screen record yet but just did and had the same issue as you - on the iPad - where it recorded the first few frames and then froze.

I went to Settings-General-Restrictions and enabled then disabled the restrictions - switching the screen record off and on at the same time (scroll to the bottom of restrictions) then made two more screen recordings and they have both worked fine.

Might be worth a try.

So its like most bugs with this OS and my ipad :) turn it off and on and off and on and it should start working again but only this one time and probably will stop working again tomorrow morning lol :)

this OS has kept me amused, thats for sure :P

The one thing I can never quite understand is how, when the new system has been tested for months pre-release, so many fundamental problems exist in the public version.

adding on to that is how so many bugs make it to release when they have... what? 2 products its going to each with 3 or 4 versions. this isnt a damn pc where the hardware configurations are infinite in possiblity. sigh.
