All Things K-Drama and beyond
« on: March 09, 2017, 04:32:43 am »

A place to discuss our favourite K-drama.
TV shows, movies, music, actors etc. But not limited to just Korean. Feel free to discuss stuff from China, Taiwan, Japan etc
Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

I'll kick things off with the movie mentioned on the main thread

Origin: South Korea
Year : 2016

TRAIN TO BUSAN is a harrowing zombie horror-thriller that follows a group of terrified passengers fighting their way through a countrywide viral outbreak while trapped on a suspicion-filled, blood-drenched bullet train ride to Busan, a southern resort city that has managed to hold off the zombie hordes- or so everyone hopes.

I really enjoyed this one. Some great action sequences, some humour and different from most other zombie movies with it taking place within the constraints of a claustrophobic train.

 ;D

A couple of Korean action movies that I enjoyed.
Shadowless Sword
The Man from Nowhere

Kdrama-wise, I'll have to go back and dig up the names.  I forget them after a while.  We did talk about Goblin in the other thread.  The Korean remake of City Hunter was quite enjoyable for me.  There was another one with the lead girl from Coffee Prince about a cop whose childhood friend goes missing.  I still haven't gotten around to watching Athena, Goddess War.

One thing a friend of mine said about Korean dramas.  The shoots are freaking immaculate.  I've never seen folks look so clean and fresh while being covered in dirt, etc.

Another rom-com that seems to have caught hold in my household.

http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Strong_Woman_Do_Bong_Soon

The women in the family have super human strength.  With all Korean dramas, there is a love triangle to suss out in 16 episodes.  Only gotten through episode 4 so far, but enjoying it.

*edit : the initial post seemed to work, but I guess no linky linky to pictures from drama wiki.

I fixed the post to remove the hot-link.  Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is the title.
