AWIW1000P : May 2015
« on: May 03, 2015, 07:22:20 am »
The two words to choose from this month are :

FEATHERS
STOIC

Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

To get us started here's the new wind chime our American friend brought for us as a gift last month

Light as a Feather

In March, I was once again privileged to be invited to photograph the dress rehearsal of Menlowe Ballet's spring performance. It has taken me this long to find the time to edit them and submit them for approval by the Director, et al.

These and 5 others are posted in my Flickr Menlowe Ballet album. Just thought these particularly filled the Word of the Month.

Halllll-oooooo! Is anybody out there? I play nicely with other children, but no one seems to want to play with me.  :(

Oh, well...on with the feather theme:

Jack the Angry Sparrow
I swear, he is glaring at me!
(I'm not paranoid, I'm not paranoid...)

My word for next month:

Solitude
(gee, wonder where that word came from?)

Ok, yeah. Sorry. Been a little preoccupied. Anyway, as promised here are a few Auzzie birds from my recent trip. All taken in my daughters front garden. She has made bird feeders out of old tea cups and there is always an abundance of exotic looking visitors! These are the rosellas.

A cheeky Auzzie magpie. They look a little different from our British variety and definately the bosses of the garden. All the parrots seemed a little afraid of them. They would tap on the front door if they thought their meal was overdue!

Selkii, I do like the expression on your sparrows face. He does look a little annoyed!

Spikeycat, you have made my day! I brought Putchie over to the computer to see her Aussie cousins and she happily chortled. WE LOVE PARROTS!! Of course, little Jack is even more annoyed to be out-done in the sartorial department!  ;D

EDIT: BTW, the only magpies I have ever seen were out on the prairie and they had long, white tails like birds of paradise. Amazing! Wish I had a photo to show you.

Glad that you and Putchie enjoyed the photos. Our magpies are a little smaller than the Australian ones but also have a very bold nature. They dance around the cats in circles teasing them. A couple of days ago Lottie got herself stuck up a very tall tree. Two of the magpies were dive bombing her, clearly upset that she was trespassing in their tree! Had to get the ladder out and rescue her!
