I use an app from ITV. Although out of the U.K., it is pretty accurate for US network programs and is the best of several I've tried. For those on US PBS, not so much. However, it does show if a program is TBA (as in Poldark), or has reached the end of its run, i.e., cancelled.

A series like Poldark will eventually be posted with its U.K. run. That would alert me to sign up for my local PBS station to update me on the US broadcast date.

Once I've programmed my DVR, it shouldn't matter, but I've had to swap out a bad DVR several times, losing my program list. The app helps me reprogram the new DVR.

I don't wait for U.S. air dates, I watch as it airs in U.K., though your app sounds useful for those waiting.
