Panoramania
« on: September 25, 2013, 03:59:45 pm »
As we seem to be taking more panoramic shots now, here's a thread especially for them.
Continuing the request made by Selkii and others elsewhere, please try to provide a link to the full sized version as well.

Images posted here still need to be 620pixels max

Copying my last pano here to get the ball rolling

Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

Richard - your pano is worth revisiting. To join the new ball, repeating the pano I posted on Trips thread.

Autumn Equinox - Sonoma Valley looking eastward over vineyards that seem to go on forever while DH waited patiently for me in the car.

You can't get the full undulation of the valley as it falls away in this 620px pic, so, for a larger pano (1862 x 740), click   HERE

Sept 26th outing to Muir Woods National Monument, established on lands privately purchased to preserve old growth, coastal redwoods. It is a magical place. Sorry for the graininess. It was late afternoon in a deep valley and very dim light.

Story - During our walk, I was touching the bark on many of these trees, both standing and fallen... felt good, but nothing special and, definitely, nothing unusual. Then I ran my hand over a fallen tree and it was as though this warm, living thing breathed under my hand - somewhat like caressing a puppy. I found it rather surprising. It was only then that I noticed the sign indicating that this was the tree that had fallen over on the Winter Solstice, 2012 and considered "special" by many of the park rangers. Spooky, but in a nice way. Panonormal?

Couldn't make up my mind which one to upload, so...

Sonia, love how the fallen tree mirrors the posts/hand rails along the pathway. And with the people on the right along the path it really shows the massive scale of those trees. Looks like you had a fantastic time there. Those panos are marvelous!

Lovely, lovely panos.

I too thought I had a paranormal experience rubbing my hand over an oak once, but it should have been the Beech. Turns out I was barking up the wrong tree

I had this sitting around in my photobucket account ... Pano shot I took at Angkor Wat this past summer.

If memory serves, I took this one with a DSLR and used my iPad to stitch it.  Not remembering which app it was, but it may have been Autostitch.

Wilyone - Oooooo!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! Thanks for sharing!

Ninja - I still stack, but now it's on Rule the Sky. Not as much fun as WR, but feeds the addiction.

Great pic! Were you there for a concert? What did you hear/see? Curious cats minds want to know!

We were there at reception for a conference so there was no performance that night. I would love to hear a concert in the venue as the acoustics are supposed to be amazing. You can't see it very well, but the pipes for the pipe organ are front and center. I should have taken a close up of them.

I did take this one.

Sue that first shot is amazing and thanks for posting the close up 'cos now we can see the unique design at the back of the stage. Are those organ pipes? They're so cool.
