Cody - As you were posting, I was over on Flickr looking at photos from a group totally devoted to Canon's EFS 60mm f/2.8 macro. So, not one photographer, but a whole bunch with very interesting and some spectacular macro shots. I was also surprised at a few photos I never would have thought to take with a macro.

My new lens arrived today and was Googling lens filter and shade when I came upon this:

Checked out fiddle oak. Going back to look at more.

While I'm at it... been meaning to share this, too.

A neighbor and good friend in Canada is a professional photographer. She abandoned her blog years ago, but I have been trying to encourage her to return to it. This is what remains online. The photos don't do the originals (which I've seen on her walls) justice. Her silvers and whites are breathtaking (again, not really translated to online). She does both film and digital photography, mixing her own chemicals in the darkroom. Her many cameras range from a 35mm to an ancient, wood, large format, bellows (I think the plates are 8 x 10).

Noooooooo
Seeing those fantastic shots on the 60mm macro group just makes me want a new macro even more hehe

Almost tempted to sell my 300mm 2.8 and rteinvest in macro lens and ringlight
Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

Macro IS fun, but I don't think I'd give up a 300mm f/2.8 for one! I miss nature shots constantly because the longest lens I own is my 100mm macro.

I try to love the lens I have, but the grass always seems greener through someone else's lens! :P

That said, I must admit, my all-time fave lens IS my 100mm ;)

I still remember my favorite lens of all time - the Nikon 70-210 macro zoom. Now, that was a beauty! I remember us putting off buying a digital camera because Nikon kept promising one that would take our lenses. They never did.

Pretty amazing! Loved the ones I forwarded you this morning...not sure if you had seen them before or not....but my favorite is the woman painting her deck "Ocean Blue". ;) Just had to post that on Facebook! Wish I had a copy of that for the cottage!

This is the kind of photography I would want to do, if I had the guts... which I don't.

PBS had a short film on this photographer whose work is absolutely fabulous. She uses film...real film. There is a quality I haven't seen in a very long time.

I learned later by Googling, she has recorded presentations for TED on slavery as it still exists in the world. Videos can be seen on You Tube.
