TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.

For me I've always had two main sources of inspiration - The National Geographic Magazine and Ansel Adams.

I've got every issue of Nat Geog back as far as 1920 and a few odd issues earlier than that. As much as the current issues are stunning in their photography, I also love looking back to the black and white issues, and the gradual move to colour.

When I first started out as a photographer National Geographic was the aim lol. Didn't quite fulfill that one, although I did have one, very small, photo used in the children's edition of the magazine hehe.

I've always admired the work of Ansel Adams - a true pioneer with a unique style of breathtaking landscape photography.

I can't share my favorite images by my favorite photographers on this forum, but if you're brave of heart, you can search Sally Mann & Jan Saudek. (NSFW!!!)

Ansel Adams - beyond doubt the best B&W photographer ever
Yousuf Karsh, Richard Avedon and Diane Arbus for portraiture (my favorite subject)
Art Wolfe, nature
David Muench, landscape
and
Spencer Tunick for his artistic audaciousness in large scale (NSFW - just learned that fr Ballookey  :))

Ooo! I really like this topic! I will have to return at a later time to post some links and images, but my quick Top 4?

Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii, who was creating color photographs before color photography was invented! /
http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/08/russia_in_color_a_century_ago.html

Ansel, of course! I used to live near the place where he shot the graveyard.

NatGeo photographers are the Rock Gods of modern photography! Clearly the best in the field. I drool over Gate's collection of back issues! What a fantastic TREASURE!

Lake Li Sun, a fellow Flickrite, is a photographic genius IMO. I am constantly challenged and intrigued by his work. And, he's a pretty cool guy (online, at least;) / http://www.flickr.com/photos/lakelisun/

I used to collect NatGeos, now subscribe and read digitally. But back when, my fav cartoon showed a couple in bed covered by scattered magazines, a hole in the ceiling, and a caption by wife: "I told you not to save all those National Geographics!"

Saved that clipping for years. Don't know what happened to it.

You have me worried now. All mine are on shelves up in the attic. Will have to send Jeeves up later to check the floor is ok.

I inherited a Spring Cleaning gene from my mother. One year I donated my entire collection, including some garage sale finds of early editions, to the Salvation Army. Regretted it ever since.   :(

Am addicted to doing the NatGeo online jigsaw, after viewing the latest posts, of course.

There's a town called Hay-on-Wye about 90 minutes from here where almost every shop is a second-hand book shop. I collected many of my earlier issues there. It's a wonderful place to spend the day. Book browsing and tea shops. What more is there!!

I really like the new crop of photographers that have embraced social media and created an open culture to teach others and to share their techniques.  They seem like genuinely nice people who are super talented, have a great attitude and are really passionate about what they do. If you are looking for great travel photography make sure to check out David and Trey....I promise you that you will be booking your next trip after a visit to their websites!

You NatGeo fans might like this. They've started a new Tumblog called Found:

Quote
Showcasing photographs that reveal cultures and moments of the past. Many of these photos have never been published and are rarely seen by the public. We hope to bring new life to these images by sharing them with audiences far and wide.

I clicked "follow" immediately as there are already several gems up there, including this one:
