Skyfall (and other James Bond movies)
« on: November 06, 2012, 05:32:11 pm »
Skyfall is out this weekend, and I. Think it's out in Europe already.

Trailer http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=6kw1UVovByw&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D6kw1UVovByw

What do you think?

Who's your all time favorite James Bond actor (and why)?
And your favorite Bond movie so far?

I'll try to get to see it this weekend.

My fav Bond is no doubt Sean Connery.

Not sure which Bond flick is my favorite, but overall I love the oldest ones most (until Moonraker, the point when they were in space). Diamonds Are Forever is in my top 5 for sure, and so is From Russia With Love. Dr. No would also be in the top 5.
I also like reading every now and then some old Ian Fleming's 007 stories. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is one of those where the movie feels like a bastardized version of the story, and leaves too many open questions.

Anyway, shoot. Would be odd if there were no James Bond fans here.  :P

I just went to see it. I loved it!!! Even if I prefered Pierce Brosman, Daniel Craig is really good in this one.

Well, I saw Skyall today.
I'm not a fan of Craig as Bond, but he was at least ok. Good choices for action, gadgets (minimal), and casting - for most characters. But the choice for Q was horrible - Q isn't supposed to be a hipster.
The bad guy was quite decent... On the same time I realize no one can top Blofeld for me.

Just saw it last night with the wifey, I don't have enough thumbs to stick up for this one :)

Note, I have never seen any bond movie other than Craig's. I saw bits and pieces of Brosman's, never seen any of the older ones. I didn't get in to the spy genre until the likes of mission impossible(cruise) and the bourne trilogy, anything older is just to old for me. I do love the tribute moment in this one to the older bond's with the car and this villian definitely felt oldschool to me too.

Great movie :)

We just saw it yesterday afternoon, and I have to say it's my favorite one. But it couldn't have been done without all the history of the previous films behind it adding significance to the whole story.

I didn't care about Bond at all until Pierce Brosnan, which makes no sense because I actually don't like that guy as an actor. In fact, I would go see those films just for something to do, to watch the spectacle. I didn't really LIKE Bond until Daniel Craig, and in this one everything really works together with him.

Also, sheesh, I really ADORED the new Quartermaster's hair. His hair stole every scene he was in for me. Luckily that guy's a good actor, too. ;)

Hopefully going to go and see it tomorrow. Was planning on taking my sister but she had a cycling accident a couple of weeks back and is still heavily bruised so not sure two hours in a cinema seat with suit her!!
Currently playing...umm nothing much.
TWD No-Man’s Land but getting  very bored with it very quickly.

Would still be playing We Rule and Supernauts - if the devs could be bothered.
