Regarding Dropbox: Important!

I drove myself crazy trying to post a pic from Dropbox, then I figured out that you must place the pic in the "Public" folder THEN copy the link!  :o

most people use an idevice to read the forum instead of computer anyway. ;)

Really?

I guess I didn't mind reading the old forum on my iPad, but I prefer using a laptop any time I'll be typing extensively. I definitely need the tactile feedback.  :)

Well, I just assumed most people use an idevice to view the forum from reading past posts.

That is what I would also assume. I am using iPad as well most of the time.

I use my iPhone to read posts and to post. The only thing I have to get onto my computer to do is post pics...cause for some reason my photobucket app will not let me copy the link...

Mine too, as well as DropBox's links are bad ever since last year's update (no help from IT either >:( ). BUT, as far as Photobucket: just access it via Safari on iPad (ditch the app; it's rather useless).

Took me a bit to figure this out, but you can post directly from your iPad/iPhone once you get the code. Here, on the top right corner, tap the image of the "links" (next icon to the left of the envelope) and it'll bring up your options.

Then, select "IMG Code" and it'll say "Copied to Clipboard".

Now, just go onto the forum and topple tap the space you want to insert the image and select "Paste". Done :) For the longest time I didn't know where the "clipboard" was but it just means its been copied and you're ready to just paste it somewhere. On the iPhone you would follow the same steps, except, you tap the "?" Icon when viewing the image and it'll bring up the same options. I'll post a pic later.
Not sure if you knew this but I didn't for the longest time :-[ ;D Hope that helps ;)

This is the image from an iPhone, with the "?" Icon on the bottom right.

And these are the options:

Yeah, that USED to work for me, but then it stopped (both on Dropbox and Photobucket). The only way I can reliably post a good link is to either use Flickr or Photobucket via Safari. Dropbox won't work even directly from Safari.  ???

I need an app for my ipad that enables me to resize images. I can find apps that allow me to compress an image, but that's not what I mean by resize. Say I have an image that's 800 by 800 pixels. I need to be able to resize it to say 400 by 400. Is there an app that allows me to do that?

If you want a free app, the only one I've found so far is an iPhone app called Resizr
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/resizr/id480519582?mt=8
It has a slider which you move to set the desired size (you can also alter height and width separately if you desire). It has a stupid bug where the saved size (on my iPad) is twice the selected size - so you need to move the slider to half your intended size. Also you can't manually type in the size, you have to use the slider - so usually you can't get the exact size due to the lack of granularity.

Another free iPhone app is Resize
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/resize/id488686004?mt=8
But you're limited to choosing just 3 fixed sizes: 240x320, 360x480 and 480x640 (landscape is supported). You can't crop the image prior to resizing, so if it's not originally in 3:4 aspect ratio the image gets distorted.

If you're posting the image here on the forum, you could always post the image and just re-size it by altering the code.

I use Photogene. You can resize the image when you export it. It has some sizes to choose from, but you can also set the size manually.

I usually export it to the photo library, but you can also send it directly to a few different online services.
