Grimm
« on: November 08, 2011, 07:03:54 am »
I guess fairytales are the it thing this season, but who else is watching Grimm on NBC & Syfy?

I caught the pilot and enjoyed it (probably more than I enjoyed the Once Upon a Time pilot)!

I especially liked the 'sidekick' werewolf, Silas Weir Mitchel (Haywire from Prisonbreak).

Considering the epic craptacularness of Syfy original movies, I'm impressed with the show so far!

For now I'm watching, but I think I like Once Upon a Time more than Grimm.

I'm enjoying both but the Grimm pilot definitely struck more of a chord with me than the Once Upon a Time pilot.

Your provider doesn't offer a DVR option? We just upgraded ours (we have FIOS) so it has a ton more room which means I can record even more stuff that I can never seem to find enough time in the day to watch. ;D

I watched the Grimm pilot and will watch last Friday's episode later this week on Tivo.

I did like it, but at least from the pilot, the basic premise seems a little too much like Buffy... but Buffy had the Whedon touch with more wry humor, and the novelty of the mythical monster killer being a small young woman. I'll probably watch 5-6 episodes of Grimm before deciding if I will keep with it. I worry that over time it will get repetitive and formulaic. :(

I'm also liking Once Upon a Time, and it definitely has a more original premise. But honestly, I worry that it will get cancelled if it isn't in the top 5 of the ratings. So much of the stuff I like gets cancelled, just because it isn't the typical crime or medical drama.  :-\

All of our shows get cancelled too.  I joke with my wife that if  ashow looks to good, we can't watch it or it will get cancelled.  I have Grimm on the DVR.  Isn't it on NBC and they show replays on Syfy?

I like Grimm...but I think I like Once Upon a Time better...

Have you thought of On Demand N-A-Dream, that's how I catch things I can't coordinate in my DVR otherwise...

I agree Ava, there have been a lot of shows I've really enjoyed along this line, that are just gone because they don't fit the "norm"  :'(

I've watched the premiere.  I liked it.  I tend to watch things ON DEMAND alot, so I end up waiting an extra week before catching the current eps.

Before I saw this thread, I commented about Grimm on the Once Upon a Time thread.  I mentioned Haywire too.

Neither Grimm nor OUAT impressed me. Both are too predictable, but OUAT has a bit of an edge on creativity in tying the story into modern life, IMHO.

I just watched the Pilot the other night and was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed it quite well, but as others have said I'm enjoying Once Upon A Time more. This could be due to the fact that we only have one episode of Grimm to watch for now though.
