I thought this milk bag thing was some long running joke. So it's a for real thing eh?  :D
I thought only Coca-Cola was the real thing ;D

Welcome back from vacation UK! :D I had no idea milk came in a bag. I have been to Canada, but I guess I never stepped foot in a grocery store there.

Lol, it is for real. You get special jugs for putting your bags in.  We use the colours to identify which is which.  The white is kids (full cream), and the navy is skim.  I had just used the last of the navy, and it needs a run through the dishwasher because of dribbling from too large a cut.

And we all know who is responsible for the dribbling.

This milk bag thing just makes me LOL. I guess because it's just so strange. What a weird method to store and distribute milk.  ;D

Yup, you can get it in bags too - if you buy 4 litres of it, you get 3 bags (as shown above).  If you buy smaller than 4 litres, they come in cartons, square bases.  I have a friend coming over this weekend who is lactose intolerant, so I'll buy a 1 litre carton of lactose free milk, for tea and for cooking with.  LOL, I guess Ninja or I should take a picture of the milk fridge at the supermarket ;)

So the bag nor jug seals? how do you keep the milk from picking up odors from other things in the fridge?

Surprisingly, its not an issue really. You have to remember that each bag has 1.3 liters of milk in it, so they don't last much more than a day or so. That's assuming that you go through the milk like most of with kids do :D I'd buy a cow if I could so I don't have to keep buying the milk bags. We go through 8-12 liters per week in my house.

Bottom row, fourth bag from the left (brown) is the chocolate milk.

Or you could use a klippit to seal it (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Weloc-Klippit-Small-Sealing-Clips/dp/B003XDZBHS)
I have them in various sizes and find them really useful.

This milk bag thing just makes me LOL. I guess because it's just so strange. What a weird method to store and distribute milk.  ;D

I seem to remember when I was in Australia that the grocery stores I visited had their eggs out on regular shelves & not in a cooler section, and then when you got home the eggs were left out on the counter rather than a refrigerator.  For me that is as different as milk bags.   I think I saw other items like that too, but can't remember what they are.
